How do I update to windows live 2011, but keep msn 2009?

I hate the new msn 2011, so i uninstalled everything and put in msn 2009. I did however like the movie maker and stuff for 2011, but when i try to install those, it says that it will automatically update my msn. Is there anyway to get around this. In general, keep msn 2009, everything else; 2011.

You are doing the right things but in the wrong way. You first need to fully uninstall essentials 2011, after that, fully install AGAIN essentials 2011 WITHOUT msn 2011. Now install and standalone version of msn 2009.
