How much minimum money do you need for a decent single life?
I am trying to simplify my life so that I can live on minimal needs , and focus on spiritual growth.
I wouldn’t have any debts after I sell my house and car.
I am trying to figure out what is the minimum money I would need to lead a decent simple life, with minimal needs? Any thoughts, ideas or guesses? How much money (per month) do you think would be sufficient to lead a decent life as a single?

Enough to afford rent, utilities, a phone, and a subscription to Hustler.
About $5,000/month.
It depends on where you live. $30,000/year will work here in florida, but not in California or up north.
That’s really going to depend on where you live, or choose to live.
Life on either coast and in major cities is more expensive than life in the midwest. Life in the mountains is more expensive than life in the city.
If you own your home outright, and your vehicle outright, I would hazard a guess (since I live in a moderately expensive area) that you can get by on about $15k a year- that’s utilities, groceries, gas, and a tiny bit of extra spending cash. However, leaves you nothing for emergencies.
I’d say aim closer to $18- 20k. Unless, of course, you can find room in a commune (yes, they still exist) where your participation is mainly by muscle – wood cutting, gardening, building skills, farm work, etc.
I can live decently for $2000 a month and still have money leftover after rent, utility, food, transportation, phone, and insurance. I don’t know where the other person is getting an extravagant figure like $5000, which is basically $60k a year.
A recent study in the UK stated that a minimum amount (which would include essentials like internet and mobile phone) would require 14,400GBP per annum.
About $2,000 dollars a month after taxes.
So at least $40,000 a year.
You could scrape by on less but as the dollars dropped your life would rapidly turn into a living hell.
For me, the minimum is $8500/Year that’s enough for the miscellaneous.
