MSNBC Supports SOPA by running pro-SOPA/PIPA ad during day of blackout!!!
This pro-SOPA commercial aired during the Chris Matthews show on MSNBC 01-18-12, the same day as the internet blackout. It is important to note that NBC’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Richard Cotton, is also Chairman of the US Chamber of Commerce cross-sector Coalition Against Counterfeiting and Piracy (CACP), which represents over 500 companies and associations who have come together to fight the vital economic battle against counterfeiting and piracy. He serves on the Steering Committee of BASCAP, Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy, an arm of the International Chamber of Commerce dedicated to the enforcement and protection of intellectual property rights worldwide.

“Now, American innovation and creativity is under attack. Every day, foreign criminals use illegal websites to steal American products.”
Wow. Nativist response much?
Here is the problem with SOPA. It’s not going to stop piracy. What it will do however is stop kids from posting youtube videos of their Call of Duty sessions, stop people from posting lip syncing videos, stop people from posting any video that may have a logo in it for something, it will basically stop people from being able to post anything on the internet in fear of being targeted by the law. There is already copyright law in the US. It’s not like SOPA is the first ever attempt at this.
haha, so many dislikes. i love it
Old Media is afraid of change again.
卐OPA WAS HERE!
Stop scapegoating everything BUT the people who actually make the decisions to lay off workers…
“Piracy” doesn’t “put people out of work”; the CEO does! dumbasses
hahahahahahaa GROSS. wtf do they care, they’re on TV!
Like I’m against people stealing others work (even though i use frostwire) but i bet this bill has so much unsaid bullshit like CENSORING the internet
wow, its so… nationalistic… right?
never watching msnbc ever again…
SOPAthetic…
The problem is not Obama.. is Rockfeller, Bildbergers, Committee of 300.. illuminatis will die in hell soon.. they have to leave this planet now!
In response to the SN of this posting I think it is important to note that MSNBC is one of the few liberal news stations. I do not believe that those opposing SOPA, PIPA and other pieces of legislation like it are going to attach themselves to conservative FOX Noise. Therefore the ad was paid to air in this prime time slot. Later that night and the previous night Rachel Maddow spoke in opposition to the bill. So in my opinion MSNBC is not to blame.
At this point, I’m cheering for CAHSR’s fail board of directors who cannot build a real railroad. I’d rather waste $100B dollars on a high-speed railroad to nowhere than let this vaguely-worded legislative scum pass.
@froggerfromspace America isnt taking the internet Sopa is
Obama 2012! Stop stealing peoples hard work!
i think the Suck Obamas Penis Act is stupid
lol you guys arnt suppost to dislike the video, its not like he made or something. but anyways, FUCK SOPA
wait.. the internet is about to be censored and after over 40,000 views this video has had, only 2,000 viewers have responded??
So help me, if this gets passed, I will lose hope in america
Like this video it’s uploaded by someone who does not support it!
@Kevin32001 I know that of course. Just wanted to throw it out there. Good job on electing politicians
FUCK SOPA!!!!!!!!!! Tango Down …baby!!!
Please direct your anti-SOPA/PIPA rage to ©reativeamerica’s YouTube and Facebook profiles and their website blog. They need to know that their pro-SOPA/PIPA propaganda treadmill and flagrant denial of the facts will not help them pass “SOPA 2.0″ next month or later.
